There is no doubt that stress is making things all the more difficult for the working class and perhaps that’s what makes them all the more susceptible to migraines.
It was found during a survey of 100 family doctors that some 47% patients do take good time before approaching doctors for help. “Avoiding stress can be difficult, but it is only through sustained lifestyle changes, alongside medication, that migraines can be controlled”, said GP Dr Sarah Jarvis.
There are as many as Six million people suffering from painful migraines, which cost some £750million a year to the economy. There are some 30% such sufferers who have been made to face disciplinary action because of the same.
It is to be understood that a lot can be improved just by bringing in small positive changes in their life style like taking exercise, regular sleeping habits, eating a healthy diet and avoiding caffeine.
There are times even sufferers quit their jobs owing to consistent stress. Apparently another research, conducted by migraine treatment Imigran Recovery, claimed that stress is the most dominant factor behind triggering migraines and some 94 of 100 GPs questioned said the same.
There is dire need to take steps in the direction of addressing the rising scar of work life stress before it’s too late.
